Selidove Mining Complex

in
Selidove

The Selidove Mining Complex anchors one of the largest coal production clusters in western Donbas. Its output historically fed power stations, industrial plants, and regional export flows, and today it remains a major node in the Ukrainian energy and logistics chain.

Geography

The complex is located south of Selidove across multiple pits and processing facilities. The terrain is industrial and irregular, shaped by spoil heaps, conveyor lines, and fenced zones.

History

Selidove’s mining sites expanded significantly during the Soviet industrial period. Following 2014, coal distribution patterns shifted westward due to front-line changes, making this complex increasingly critical for Ukraine’s energy resilience.

Present Day

The mining complex continues to function under wartime constraints, routing coal north toward Myrnohrad and then west through Pokrovsk. Its infrastructure is exposed to operational risks and plays a direct role in sustaining power generation in Kurakhove and other regional assets.
