Selidove Bypass Chokepoint

in
Selidove

The Selidove Bypass Chokepoint is one of the most restrictive movement corridors in the western Donbas. Industrial sites and terrain features compress all east-west road traffic into a short, narrow stretch of roadway, limiting maneuver options for both civilian and logistical flow.

Geography

The chokepoint lies west of Selidove between spoil heaps to the south and industrial facilities to the north. It forms a natural funnel where the T0510 corridor passes through a tightly confined space.

History

The corridor emerged as a traffic bottleneck during Soviet-era industrial development, when mining expansion reduced available road space. Since 2014, the area has repeatedly been identified as a mobility constraint during heightened operational pressures.

Present Day

The chokepoint affects civilian evacuation routes, logistical convoys, and emergency routing during strikes. Its limited width creates vulnerability to disruption, with no meaningful parallel alternatives within immediate range.
