The Baba Mountains rise sharply above the Pelagonia Plain, creating a distinct climatic and geographic divide between lowland agriculture and alpine terrain.

Historically, the mountains limited large-scale settlement and served as a seasonal resource zone rather than a permanent habitation area.

Today the Baba Mountains are valued primarily for natural conservation, water sources, and limited mountain activities rather than for strategic control.
