Myrnohrad

Location:
Donetsk Oblast

Intro

Myrnohrad lies directly northeast of Pokrovsk and forms part of the continuous urban-industrial band that defines the western Donbas theatre. Historically a mining and industrial city, it now functions as a secondary logistics point and staging area for the Pokrovsk axis.

Background

History

Myrnohrad developed around coal mining operations and Soviet-era industrial expansion. After 2014, the city shifted into a stabilizing civilian zone west of the active frontline. Its population declined gradually as industrial activity contracted and conflict conditions intensified.

Present Day

The city maintains limited industrial output and supports logistical activity tied to the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad corridor. Population has dropped significantly due to ongoing military pressure, with many districts operating in reduced or emergency modes. Transport nodes such as the freight yard and bridge remain structurally important.
