Myrnohrad Freight Yard
The Myrnohrad Freight Yard is a major bulk cargo node serving the broader industrial zone east of Pokrovsk. It connects the Selidove mining cluster to the main rail artery leading toward Dnipro and the northern defensive sector.
Geography
The yard occupies a long, parallel-track corridor in the middle of Myrnohrad’s industrial belt. Industrial buildings and small depots border the tracks, while lateral roads channel freight traffic into Pokrovsk and Selidove.
History
Historically linked to coal transport, the freight yard expanded during the Soviet industrialization period and maintained relevance through the different phases of the Donbas energy sector. After 2014 it became central to redirecting freight flows away from contested territories.
Present Day
During the current conflict its function has shifted toward mixed-use freight, including industrial materials, humanitarian goods, and limited military supply. High volumes of rail activity make it a sensitive point in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad urban corridor.
